Acumen Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013
This hot new project on Atlas Peak shows all the best aspects of mountain fruit: intense bouquet, rustic tannins, and pure red and blue fruit. The bouquet is loaded with wild blueberry, black cherry, lavender and violets. The texture is grainy and food-friendly, showing marvelous energy between
the currant, plum, and mountain minerality. Enjoy over the next decade. Acumen wines are the embodiment of a dream to share with friends and family the very best of the Old and New Worlds, a dream where world-class wine making and viticulture experience combine with a deep love of the land.
Our Acumen team, which includes winemakers Denis Malbec and Henrik Poulsen, and viticulturists Steve Matthiasson and Garrett Buckland, were drawn to the mountainside vineyards of Napa Valley's eastern slopes, which have created countless world-class wines. It was here in the Atlas Peak AVA that we set our roots in two unique vineyards with a total of 116 acres. The Acumen label shares a glimpse of our inspiring view, which features the iconic
peak of Mount St. Helena and the peaceful, undulating hillsides of this enchanted mountain valley. Along with our neighbors on Pritchard Hill and in Oakville, our vines are planted in the prized, red, iron-rich volcanic soils that have become the benchmark for Napa Valley's finest wines.

Keenan, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is composed primarily of grapes grown on Keenan’s Spring Mountain District Estate; the remainder of the fruit was harvested from the Napa Carneros region and Pope Valley, a grape growing region located in the eastern portion of Napa. The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon offers notable depth and intensity in the mid-weight, classically inspired style that runs through all these wines. The coarse, somewhat rustic, tannins need quite a bit of air to soften, but once they do, pretty red stone fruit, spice and floral notes start to develop. Even so, the 2014 remains a bit rough around the edges. It will be interesting to see what time brings.
